About RentLimit
RentLimit puts HUD's Fair Market Rents, income limits, Census rent and income figures and the statewide rent-increase caps on one page per county, with the official source and effective date next to every number. Other sites show approximations or last year's figures; we copy the official files and say exactly which ones.
Who runs this site
Looks Einkaufs & Verwaltungs GmbH, Kellerbühlstraße 15, 88239 Wangen im Allgäu, Germany. Contact: hello@rentlimit.com. Full details in the imprint. Independent, not affiliated with HUD, BLS, the Census Bureau or any housing authority. We are not a law firm, a broker or a property manager.
Editorial principles
- Official data only. Every figure comes from a named public dataset (HUD, Census Bureau, BLS, state agencies) and is reproduced without estimation. The source and its effective date sit under every table.
- Uncertainty is shown. Census survey figures carry their margin of error; unreliable estimates are marked or left out of rankings.
- Law is quoted, not interpreted. Rent-cap pages follow the statute and the agency that publishes the official figure, link both and say what we do not cover (local ordinances, exemptions). Nothing here is legal advice.
- No paid placement. Advertising and affiliate links, if any, never change a number or a ranking and are labelled.
- Checked against the source. After every data update we compare a sample of counties with the agency's own lookup tool and publish the result on the methodology page. Last check: November 5, 2026.
Corrections
If a figure differs from the official source, write to hello@rentlimit.com with the page and the source link. We check within one business day, fix confirmed errors in the next build and note the correction with its date on the methodology page.
